Hi. I have been enjoying the audible app for many years and it has never disappointed me. So thanks for a good job!

I have never felt that books I haven’t liked so much equals a trade in since it’s a matter of taste. I have now however found a book that just is of poor quality; Richard Belzers ”Hit list”. The topic is really interesting but the writing is awful when it comes to the constant repeats of points and sometimes almost identical sentences that makes me think ”Is this deja vu or did he just say that two sentences earlier?”, and then the same point is made a third time in a very similar way and it is just laughable. I would like to exchange this book because it just isn’t possible to enjoy it unless maybe if you are that poor diabetic guy in Memento who has some sad memory defect. Sorry to say, in this particular case, I am not him.

If you could grant me an exchange I would like to use your concierge service that I haven’t tried before. My favorite books are ”Lab girl” and ”The trauma cleaner”. They are very personal in their approach to the subjects and the subjects are things I didn’t know would fascinate me. Could you recommend a couple of books that would fit that describtion or do you need more intel?

Before I leave I have some suggestions:

It would be a great feature to be able to make ”playlists” or ”top lists” that can be shared publicly. Imdb has one and it is very useful when compiling recommendations to friends and blog readers. I would also think it could drive sales since top lists would link to Audible.

If the above mentioned feature would exist it would be fun to get some of the author pages in-app to feature authors own top lists.

It would be fun to have a social feature that shows (anonmyously or not) the user which you have the most in common with as a reader. That would be a very interesting way to get new spexcific rexpmmendations. It coould be called ”Bookshelf friends” or maybe ”Shelfriends” or ”Twin reader” or perhaps something more snappy.

Reader top lists. I like the badge system. That is great. I think it would be fun to have some editorial interviews of readers based on unique achivements. Who has read Sylvia Plaths ”The bell jar” the most times? And why? Who have listened to the most books? Who has listened to the greatest number of different languages? Who has sent most books to friends? Who dominates amount of hours in a specific genre? And so on… A way to get to see what other book listeners lives are like through interviews about their Audible habits.

Diversify with trophies and awards. Wouldn’t it be great to take user data and recommend something completely different to users and reward them for trying something new? For instange if you only listen to male western science books, maybe it is time to listen to a female scientist from India.

Maybe a novel only reader should try a highly rated poetry book. And if they succed and listen through they could get a badge and a couple of credits for it. Sort of like an alghorithm challenge in order to broaden peoples reading habits.

What do you think?

Hope you are well.

Kindly
Marcus Stenberg

Hi Marcus,

I really appreciate your long time association with Audible and appreciate that you took your valuable time to give us your ideas and feedback about our services. I will certainly forward your ideas to the concern team. The one I really like is the Social feature you suggested and I would love to see that feature on Audible.

Further, I understand that finding the right listen can be tricky as Audible has a huge library. So sometimes, we choose the wrong one this happens with me too. So without any doubt, I have returned the audiobook ”Hit List” and your 1 credit has successfully reinstated to your account which can be used towards any alternate purchase of the audiobook.

Marcus, I see that you are a lover of Nonfiction, True Crime and Bios Memoirs genre and you have a lot of books of these genres in your library. I am happy to know that your favorite books are ”The Trauma Cleaner and Lab Girl” from Bios Memoirs genre.

I would suggest you to try these books, you may like them – ”Extreme Ownership”, ”If You Tell”, ”Suspense”, ”The Land of Little Rain” and ”The Secret of the Ages”.

If you have more queries, please let me know.

I am just an email away!

Sincerely,
